Dr. Stephen Houser is the Chief of Anesthesiology for CMC-Union. He went to medical school at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Hospital. Houser is board certified in Anesthesiology and has practiced at CMC-Union for 7 years. He resides in the community near the Waxhaw area. His favorite thing about working at CMC-Union is that “there is an esprit de coups here and we all treat everyone as our neighbors.”

Houser’s main goal as chief is to build a team using anesthesiologists, hospital staff and CRNAs to ensure collaboration and outstanding patient care. “Not only does the CMC Union anesthesiology team take great care of the patient, we live our core values of: caring, commitment, integrity and teamwork,” said Houser.
