April 7, 2010 (CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - SAC physicians, Bernard Velardo, Art McCulloch and Joshua Miller, participate in Carolinas MED- 1 Mobile Disaster Drill at Charlotte’s International Airport.

The Carolinas MED-1 project was formally initiated in 2003 as a pilot program to fill the void involving mass casualty patient care in the field when hospital resources are not available due to proximity, damage, quarantine, or surge capacity. SAC physicians practiced providing anesthesia support for the mobile OR unit.
