Dr. Alan Klochany Named New CMC-Main Anesthesia Chief
On January 1, Dr. Klochany became the new CMC-Main Anesthesia Chief. Klochany has been with SAC since March of 2002 and previously served in the CMC-Main Anesthesia Vice Chief role. Klochany replaces Dr. Rich Gilbert who served as the CMC-Main Anesthesia Chief for 22 years. A luncheon in Gilbert’s honor was held on January 3rd at CMC Main.
When asked about what goals he would like to accomplish in his new role Klochany responded with, “I want to continue to enforce policies that provide excellent patient care while at the same time keep our hospitals clients and surgeons satisfied. I am encouraging the team to continue working on the committees that are trying to improve OR utilization, first cases in rooms on time, and have more efficient turnover times. Furthermore, I am partnering with the hospital to ensure they meet all the SCIP initiatives that we have control over, most notably beta blocker and antibiotic administration. Since I will be in the OR most of the time, I hope that surgeons feel they can approach me with issues and I promise I will work to address them in an effective manner.”
