Southeast Invited to AQI Quality Measurement Meeting
The Anesthesia Quality Institute, established by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, held an invitation only meeting on Friday, April 12th to discuss setting quality measurement standards for anesthesia. Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants was invited to participate in the meeting and Dr. Rich Gilbert represented the group. The meeting is the next step in furthering AQI’s mission of developing and maintaining an ongoing registry of non-identifiable case data that helps anesthesiologists assess and improve patient care. The groups focus is to utilize the 10 million cases that the AQI registry has collected to develop comprehensive national quality standards for the anesthesia subspecialty.
Southeast Anesthesiology Consultant’s clinical quality improvement system, Quantum Clinical Navigation System, was the first preferred AQI vendor.
“We are honored to participate with other anesthesiologists on developing national anesthesia standards. The mission of AQI aligns very closely with our organization. Improving quality and patient experience is extraordinarily important to the future of medicine and is one of the many reasons Southeast has devoted so much time and attention to this area of our specialty,” said Gilbert.
