Corporate Medical Director, American Anesthesiology of the Southeast - Russell Sauder, M.D., M.B.A.
Prior to joining the AASE team in Charlotte in 2005, Dr. Sauder was with a private anesthesia group in Ohio where he held several administrative leadership positions within the group and numerous clinical leadership positions outside the group. Since relocating to Charlotte, Dr. Sauder has served in leadership roles with AASE, including Chief of Anesthesia at Sentara Health, Medical Director of PACU at Carolinas Healthcare, Compliance Officer and Chairman of the AdHoc Scheduling Committee.
Dr. Sauder received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He finished a residency in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Ohio and then completed a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Florida. In addition, Dr. Sauder has completed fellowships in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Anesthesiology and Cardiac Anesthesia from Johns Hopkins. Dr. Sauder also holds his MBA from Capital University.
Practice Director – American Anesthesiology of the Southeast – Robin Y. Amos, RT-R, MSML
Robin has over 25 years in healthcare and brings varying range of experience in the clinical and practice operations to Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants. Robin received her Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology from Forsyth Technical Community College with an additional year of studies in Cardiac Catheterization at Wake Forest Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Care Administration from Gardner-Web University and her Masters of Management and Leadership from Montreat College. Prior to joining Southeast Anesthesiology and Pain, Robin served in various clinical and leadership positions with Novant Health and OrthoCarolina, most recently as the Administrator for the Mallard Creek Surgery Center in Charlotte, NC.
Southeast Pain Administrator - Denise Hensel, MS, CGC
Denise joined Southeast Anesthesiology as the Practice Administrator over the Southeast Pain Group in 2015. Denise comes to the group with over 25 years' experience in the healthcare arena serving both in the clinical setting as a Genetic Counselor and as an administrator in ambulatory operations and practice management. Denise earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Science from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining Southeast Anesthesiology and Pain, Denise served in clinical/administrative leadership positions at Carolinas Healthcare System.
Office Management - JoAnn Pugliese
JoAnn joined Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants, P.A. in September 2013 as Administrative Assistant to the Corporate Medical Director and was quickly promoted to Office Manager. JoAnn graduated The Berkley School of Business in New York in 1986. JoAnn is seasoned in the arena of office administration support.
Southeast Pain Care Medical Director - Jon-David Hoppenfeld, MD
Dr. Jon-David Hoppenfeld earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. His residency was in Neurology at New York University School of Medicine. Following his residency he completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at Beth Israel Medical Center. He is double board certified in Neurology and Pain Management. In 2010, Hoppenfeld joined Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants and became Medical Director in February of 2014. Prior to joining he worked as an interventional pain management physician at Manhattan Spine and Pain. Dr. Hoppenfeld is the author of Fundamentals of Pain Medicine and a medical advisor for Golf Digest.
